research

The studio’s research practice draws from a number of disciplinary backgrounds in order to gather material, find new perspectives, and arrive at the stories, ideas, and concepts that fuel the work.

Drawing from methods such as field ethnography, spatial analysis, hands-on material experimentation, archival research, and work with experts in traditional craft and practice, as well as other means, the studio is able to explore issues at depth. This approach also serves to sharpen a critical stance and open space for dialogue and exchange amongst multiple stakeholders.
