Klee Klee A/W

As a fashion label focused on long-term quality and sustainability, Klee Klee is sensitive to the demanding and rapid cycles within our current fashion industry that create waste and over-consumption. For their 2019 Autumn / Winter show, Klee Klee’s goal was to create a vibrant setting for an event that would minimize waste. ATLAS’ response was to use a simple, modular, reusable aluminum framing system, wrapped with a durable outdoor textile, as a platform to create a courtyard garden. The catwalk moved around a central garden with the audience occupying the outer edge — gathered together in a casual but intimate way.

By coordinating with Habitat for Humanity China—whose mission in Shanghai often focuses on building community gardens in underserved parts of the city—the materials chosen for the event were able to be donated and reused after it was finished. The furniture for the show was made out of building materials that could be donated to and recycled by the organization as well.

The white textile used in the spatial installation was then transformed by Klee Klee into reusable shopping bags.
